It’s a big day for Spectrum, the UK’s first and only “internet of things” maker.
The company is launching a $50 smartphone that features a new brand-new chipset, a fingerprint scanner, a camera with built-in Wi-Fi, and a new design.
It’s also offering $100 off a new phone with a similar chip and the same software as the Nexus 5X.
The phone is powered by the latest Intel Atom processors and comes with Android 4.3 out of the box, though you’ll still have to pay for the latest software updates.
The Spectrum will be available in stores across the country on October 12.
Spectrum CEO and cofounder Paul O’Connell, who co-founded the company with David Pecore, told The Verge that Spectrum has been “on a mission” since launching the Nexus 4 back in 2013.
The first device, the Nexus 6, had a fingerprint sensor built into its display.
The Nexus 6’s fingerprint sensor was also limited to just two, but the fingerprint sensor is now available for all Nexus smartphones.
Spectrum has also released a new, more flexible design for its phones.
The phones are available in a range of sizes, from 6.3-inches to 6.8-inches.
The new phone will also have a built-up camera, a higher-resolution camera, and an improved fingerprint sensor.
O’Connors team has also added a new feature that can be used to add a second SIM card to a Nexus phone for added storage.
Spectrum’s biggest challenge with the Nexus devices has been the software.
The most popular software on Android phones today is Samsung’s TouchWiz, which is used on more than 70 percent of the devices in the world.
While O’Conners team has been hard at work with Android Open Source Project developer Jonathan Bixby to create a more customizable experience for the phones, there’s still no way to install Android’s default stock ROM, and Spectrum isn’t yet able to add support for Google Play.
Spectrum will continue to support the Android Open Accessibility Guidelines (AOSP) and Google Play Store.
Spectrum plans to release the phone on October 26, and O’Connor said the price will be around the same as a Nexus 5x.
